Last week we were subjected to the horror of what had to be the worst Undertaker/Lame match yet. Ok, it had to be one of the worst matches period. I don't blame Taker though. I blame the stupid bookers and Lame. Most people blame UT and say he needs to retire and his skills have deteriorated. Bullshit. I won't sit here and say UT hasn't slow down some, but god damn if these people do not show a great deal of ignorance with the other comments they make. No, the real problem with Taker's matches are bookers making matches with no talent, egotistical, ingrates who can't wrestle their way out of a paper bag but are being given pushes because the WWF conned the moronic masses into thinking their already in pop culture catch phrases are cool. They are the real reason that UT doesn't come off so well all the time. He gets stuck putting his pushes on hold to oversell and job to these people. All so they look good. It happened last week, it happened again this week. Just to get things straight here, The Undertaker doesn't have to dominate every single match. Evenly matched is fine. His match with Rikishi didn't seem all that even. Especially with Fagle involved. Even though taker was pinned, it took two interferences from Fagle, two superkicks (HBK's Sweet Chin Music finisher,) and the 400 LB Rikishi dropping on his chest from the second rope just to get the three count. So, it could be worse. He could be clean jobbing to everyone and anyone. At least it still takes some kind of screw to beat him. It still doesn't make it acceptable that Taker is the only maineventer who can put his ego on the shelf and put people over. One man can beat the almighty Asstin. One man can crush Cryvia. Very few have beaten Taker fair and square. Yeah, I know, that's probably what the WWF wants fans to think. But ya know something, if I didn't take that as some kind if solace, I would go insane taking several people with me. Namely Vince McMahon. All and all, this match could have been better and if the WWF plans on a full blown UT/Rikishi feud, they need to step it up. Anyway, Taker goes to Foley who promises to do something for him on Smackdown. I love how the bookers let Foley help UT out when it doesn't matter. Becuase if they did let Foley help when it mattered, that would make UT look good, and they don't want to do that. Still I am not very happy about that result. There was some relief. It seems Good ole Vin Man was up to his old tricks, he went around asking the faces Asstin, Crock, and UT to change their minds about Hell In a Cell on Sunday. Well, he demanded Taker go to Foley and tell him The Phenom would not participate. Taker is a veteran of three Hell in A Cell matches, so of course he ain't backing out. He tells Vince to take a message to Foley. So Vince is natural curious of what he wants him to say to the Commish. There's something on Vince's jacket. A big wad of UT's chewing tobacco right on his lapel. No UT sightings until the near end of the show. After Asstin and Crock had put their signature finisher on McFuckoff, UT was very much like a vulture hanging aroung a lost and dying traveler out in Death Valley. Out he comes, first stopping to stare down the Crock who was looking at Taker like "How dare you come out here to start with me?" UT shot hm a glace back like "Boy, don't flatter yourself, you ain't nothing." then it was off to the ring to wait for Vince to drag his sorry corpse up off the mat. Maybe he should have stayed down and hoped UT went away. He went for the Last Ride. We go backstage after that segement to see UT getting ganged up on by three people. HHH, Angle, and Rikishi. How nice I thought, as if getting screwed over by Ange, then beaten up by him and Rikishi earlier wasn't enough, now we have all three of them. The only comfort I got from that was seeing the camera pan down to see Crock and Asstin had gotten jumped too. UT giving beatings and taking beatings was balanced out tonight. The match with Rikishi was not that great. With crap like this going on, now one can see why I cherish spoilers. I can prepare myself for the disappointment.
